I’ve been asked a few times: “What’s something you’d love to learn more about?”
I like this question because it’s not about what we need to know for work or school—it’s about what actually makes us curious. The stuff that grabs your attention late at night and sends you down a rabbit hole.
For me, there are a few topics that always pull me in. They go from the super deep and philosophical to the mind-blowingly cosmic. Here’s my short list:
- Metaphysics
Basically the “big questions” zone: What is reality? Do we really have free will? What does cause and effect even mean?
It’s less about getting final answers and more about stretching your brain. Thinking about this stuff is like going to the mental gym—it makes you look at the world in new ways.
- Social Engineering
Okay, this one sounds sketchy, but hear me out. Social engineering (the kind I mean) is all about how people can be influenced—sometimes manipulated—into doing things or giving up info.
It’s huge in cybersecurity, but honestly, it shows up everywhere: ads, sales pitches, politics, even everyday convos. Learning about it makes you way harder to fool.
- Communication & Observation
These go hand-in-hand. Good communication isn’t just talking clearly—it’s knowing how to connect, and actually listening.
Pair that with psychological observation (noticing tone, body language, little cues), and you can understand people on a whole different level. Done right, it’s not about manipulation—it’s about empathy and clarity.
- Cosmology
If metaphysics is about “what is reality,” cosmology is like, “where does our reality fit in the universe?”
Big questions here: How did it all start? What’s dark matter? Are we in a multiverse?
This stuff never fails to blow my mind. It’s humbling and exciting at the same time—like standing under the stars and realizing both how tiny and how lucky we are.
- String Theory
This one’s physics at its wildest. The idea is that the tiniest building blocks of reality aren’t particles, but little vibrating strings. Different vibrations = different particles.
The math is insane, but the idea of it? Extra dimensions, reality as vibrations? That’s the kind of thing that keeps me up at night—in the best possible way.
So yeah, that’s my current obsession list.
