Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?
A stray dog.
Not the kind people post about. Not the clean version with a good ending already written.
The real kind.
The one that had to figure it out on its own. No consistent direction. No guarantee of food. No one shaping its behavior in a controlled environment. Just adapting, learning, surviving.
A stray doesn’t move for approval. It doesn’t perform. It reads situations fast, decides what matters, and keeps going. It learns from what hurts. It remembers what works.
It’s not soft—but it’s not pointless aggression either. There’s a balance there. It knows when to stay quiet, when to move, and when to stand its ground.
And if it does find a place to stay—if it chooses it—it’s not because it needs it.
It’s because it decided to.
That’s the difference.
There’s no illusion in it. No identity built on how things should have been. Just a constant adjustment to what is.
Not impressive. Not symbolic.
Just real.
